The Bengals' worst nightmare appears to have been averted. According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, Dalton doesn't seem overly concerned about his injury whatsoever:
"I’m good, no problem at all. I just took a hit on the arm, and my hand got feeling a little numb, sort of like getting hit on your funny bone. But it’s fine now. There was just no point in taking any more snaps in this particular game.
"
This is great news for the Bengals, who are looking to build on some of the magic that carried them to the playoffs a season ago. With Dalton apparently OK, the Bengals' playoff aspirations are still intact, and it doesn't look like he's in danger of missing time.
-----------End of Update-----------
The team followed that news with an optimistic report just a few minutes later:
"Dalton is very nonchalant on the sideline. He appears to be fine. Diagnosis is a bruised arm.

An injury to Dalton would be critical to the Bengals' 2012 season.
