Miami Dolphins: The Squad of South Beach and Their Drastic Preseason Woes
There is no way around it—the Miami Dolphins have been awful in preseason.
Awful might be a generous way to put it, too. Sitting with an 0-4 record, the Dolphins have been drastically outplayed in every matchup. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a field day. The Carolina Panthers steamrolled right through them. The Atlanta Falcons were simply better.
Even the Dallas Cowboys, the self-proclaimed “America’s team,” cruised past the South Beach squad.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The first reaction tends to be that it's just preseason, which is relatively valid. These games are merely tune-ups for the Dolphins to prepare for the upcoming regular season, and to select a starting rotation out of a hefty group of players.
However, with that notion aside, there are still significant concerns surrounding this Miami squad and the preseason has revealed that.
With a promising new quarterback under center in Ryan Tannehill, the Dolphins offense finally has someone for the future to lead the passing attack.
That future looks bright, don’t get me wrong. However, the Texas A&M product needs weapons first.
The receiving corps has been terrible. We've seen dropped pass after dropped pass and poor route running. We've seen receivers struggling to get open.
How can you expect a young quarterback to complete passes when his options are struggling to even make the catch?
On top of these offensive woes, the Dolphins defense has looked lackluster as well. The secondary has been torn apart, game after game. With the recent departure of Vontae Davis to the Indianapolis Colts, there is no superior defensive back in that unit, either.
Then again, it’s all just preseason.
