My Mock NCAA Tournament Bracket

As a fan, I wasn't sure if I had the credentials to write an article showing a mock bracket. Then I saw a mock one on a major website and knew I could do better. He had Villanova in Boise, UConn in Miami, and almost every other team traveling a long distance to play. It's a mess. A mock bracket will always have errors, especially when it comes to the last few teams in. I did this on Friday, and there are 12 teams not in that have an at-large case. They are:

Cincinnati, Penn St., New Mexico, Niagara, Tennessee, San Diego St., Providence, Notre Dame, Rhode Island, Maryland, Temple, and Miami. All of these have flaws, and still have time to make an at-large case. Even after I did my bracket, I realized that one of these 12 should be in over Oklahoma State. The teams as of now aren't as important as how I formed the bracket. It's more of a wish than a prediction, but I used some knowledge by the committee to come up with it.

I heard a comment saying that the committee was considering the difficult economy as a factor and wanted to keep teams closer to home. My bracket provides a great opportunity for more fans to go to the games, and a lot less travel. Some big name teams would have to travel, but they are also more likely to have fans outside of their city. The focus is more on the best atmosphere and games, and less on seedings.
