Chelsea Transfer Rumors: Marseille Star Loic Remy Would Be a Huge Upgrade
Chelsea is reportedly interested in Marseille striker Loic Remy, according to The London Evening Standard.
"Spurs have been trying to sign Remy to strengthen their frontline since last year. With two days of the transfer window left, Chelsea and Manchester City have both started to show interest but with cash in the bank from the sale of Luka Modric to Real Madrid, Tottenham are stepping up their efforts.
Chelsea have already spent more than £80million in the transfer window this summer, but are still looking at buying a young forward as they only have Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge on the books.

Marseille has started off the season well in league play, winning its first three matches. Remy is a large part of the club's success, but if it can get a great sum of money for him, allowing him to leave France wouldn't be a terrible move.
Even if Sturridge stays at Stamford Bridge this season, adding Remy to the squad would be a fantastic move by manager Roberto Di Matteo.
Surprisingly, Chelsea still doesn't have depth at striker with less than 48 hours to go in the transfer window.
If Fernando Torres struggles or suffers an injury, Chelsea could struggle to score goals from the striker position without bringing in reinforcements in the transfer window.
Remy is not as talented as other players that could be targets of Chelsea on deadline day, such as Edinson Cavani and Hulk, but the Frenchman has the skills to shine in the Premier League.
Remy would upgrade Chelsea's depth and talent at the striker position in a big way. He is a better goal scorer than Sturridge, and would be a great fit alongside playmakers like Eden Hazard and Juan Mata.
Chelsea would be wise to bring the French star to Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline.
