Manchester City Transfer News: Scott Sinclair Seals Move to EPL Champions

Nick AkermanJun 7, 2018

Manchester City have finally landed their man.

Scott Sinclair is heading to the Etihad after Swansea City accepted a new bid from the Premier League champions (via BBC Sport).

Earlier in the week, the Welsh club rejected a £6.2 million offer for the versatile Englishman who admitted his future rests away from The Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins started to play hardball once the bid was turned down. He indicated his side wouldn't be intimidated into the sale of their prized asset (via ESPN).

Roberto Mancini has since returned with another bid.

Although the initial price of £6.2 million still stands, the fee could reach an estimated £8 million with add-ons (via The Daily Mail). The slight raise in price has brokered a deal between the two clubs, meaning Sinclair will join up with the Man City squad before the clash against Queens Park Rangers.

Swansea have worked quickly to bring in a replacement for the player that scored eight goals and provided four assists in the Premier League last season.

A bid has been tabled for Valencia's Pablo Hernandez, who is expected to join the club for around £5.5 million (via BBC Sport).

Sinclair's arrival could signal the beginning of a busy couple of days for The Citizens. Now that Adam Johnson's replacement has been found, Mancini has can shift his focus towards other targets.

A £12 million deal has been agreed with Fiorentina for the acquisition of Matija Nastasic (via The Telegraph). After a summer of frustration, it seems Roberto Mancini is starting to get his way.

If reports are to be believed, the Premier League champions are set to launch a £60 million assault on players as the transfer market comes to a close (via ESPN).
