Real Madrid Transfer Rumors: 5 Last-Minute Moves Los Blancos Are Considering

Thomas AtzenhofferJun 7, 2018

Real Madrid have done some tinkering this offseason, but not as much as many might have expected.

Rumors abounded in the early parts of the summer transfer window that multiple major stars from the club were set to be moved.

However, many of those have come and gone. Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and the rest of the major players in attack remain the same as last season.

This summer has looked more about Jose Mourinho trimming the proverbial "fat" from the club in the efforts to solidify his squad as the most likely to repeat as La Liga title winners and to have a fighting chance of returning to a Champions League final.

With only just over 48 hours remaining in the 2012 summer transfer period, Real Madrid have several transfers in limbo that could potentially all come to fruition in the last two days of movements.

Maicon

According to Sky Sports' Pete O'Rourke, Real Madrid could have a chance of bringing in the highly talented Maicon from Inter Milan.

The 31-year-old veteran defender is believed to be surplus to the rebuilding Milanese side and Real are hoping for the chance to pounce.

However, it could take more than a handsome transfer fee to get their man.

Lassana Diarra

While Madrid are hopeful of landing Maicon, Inter Milan are anticipating the chance to try and secure more than just cash for the Brazilian.

Spanish news outlet Marca claims that if Los Blancos want their man, they will have to swap not only funds, but midfielder Lassana Diara as well.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder could be the perfect partner for Wesley Sneijder in the midfield for Inter.

Kaka

AC Milan may have called off their pursuit of former midfield legend Kaka, but the Real Madrid midfielder appears to be looking at other options than the Spanish capital for his future.

According to the player's wife, Carolina Celico and ESPN it seems that the once revered playmaker has been told to make plans elsewhere than Madrid.

It seems that a return to Brazil is more likely than many would have thought according to Celico's quotes to ESPN:

"

We are planning the return to Sao Paulo with all the family. If Kaka leaves Madrid we will not go to any other country.

Mathieu Debuchy

Real Madrid have turned their attention away from the midfield after the arrival of Luka Modric and are believed to be on the hunt for new defensive talent.

According to ESPN it seems that current Newcastle United target, Mathieu Debuchy of Lille OSC has taken the top place in their search for a new right back.

The Frenchman is a far more offensive-minded option than Real's current first choice in Alvaro Arbeloa. Debuchy would offer a completely different set of skills for Jose Mourinho to use in his first team.

Ricardo Carvalho

In 2010 Real Madrid paid Chelsea £6.7 million for the services of veteran central defender Ricardo Carvalho.

However, it appears that the one-time English Premier League stalwart during the reign of Mourinho in London is no longer part of the plans for the Spanish giants.

According to Sky Sports the 34-year-old has been told he is no longer part of the club's plans and he has been reportedly seeking a potential move back to England with Queens Park Rangers.
