Triple H: 6 Possible WrestleMania 29 Opponents

I hope I don't see it, and I'm going to go on the belief that when WrestleMania 29 arrives, Triple H will be on the card but not taking on Brock Lesnar.

If the two are going to have another match, I think it will be before then.

I think this year will be similar to the year of WrestleMania 26, when Triple H worked with Sheamus—a veteran helping one of the stars of the future...a future that Triple H will one day have full control over.

So what younger WWE star would be best fit to work with The Game on the big stage?

The Miz

It would be the WrestleMania comeback needed for The Miz. After main-eventing WrestleMania 27, The Miz found himself irrelevant at WrestleMania 28.

Going one-on-one with Triple H at WrestleMania 29 would bring significant focus back to one of the WWE's best young heels.

Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio would be the oldest option to get a rub from Triple H at WrestleMania.

Del Rio has worked world title matches at WrestleMania and been a champion in WWE before―but he still seems to lack the big-name status.

Injuries or out-of-the-ring issues have halted Del Rio's momentum in his career. He is an old-school heel with his promos and mannerisms. Del Rio is also very skilled in the ring.

The right booking with Triple H and a good showing in the ring could finally be the match that leads to him reaching his destiny.

Ryback

Ryback is reportedly one of the WWE's—Vince McMahon's, specifically—big projects for the long term.

WrestleMania 29 will be the first WrestleMania for the Ryback character. You would have to think he'll be given a prominent match as he screams, “Feed me more!”

What an answer to the battle cry Triple H would be.

Daniel Bryan

This year has been the year of Daniel Bryan. He has elevated the entertainment aspect of his game substantially. His value is at an all-time high.

A year ago, the promo portion of a big match between Triple H and Daniel Bryan wasn't there. Now, after seeing what we've seen of Bryan, the possibilities are intriguing.

The bell-to-bell action would live up to all that the microphone talk builds up: two guys, at different points in their careers, who can work any style with each other.

The fact that Daniel Bryan was trained by Triple H's best friend, Shawn Michaels, could provide an interesting element to the story as well.

Dolph Ziggler

The potential of what WrestleMania 29 could mean for Dolph Ziggler if he were to have an advertised match with Triple H is amazing. Not only would it be a career-defining match, win or lose, but it could be one part of a historic night.

Ziggler is still carrying the Money in the Bank briefcase, which, in my opinion, he will either use at WrestleMania or close to the expiration of the year.

A match earlier in the night with Triple H would give him the opportunity to cash in after a world title match later in the evening―officially ushering in the era of Dolph Ziggler.

Damien Sandow

Picking a young opponent for Triple H to work with on the big stage would say a lot about WWE's future plans. Triple H isn't going to work with someone who there are any doubts about.

Several years ago Triple H worked with Sheamus, who has stayed the course and risen to be booked as a world heavyweight champion and one of the top faces of the company.

Ironically, Sheamus has been linked as a guy who Triple H was a big fan of and helped break in to WWE. Sandow is also being looked at as the next project for Triple H.

For a big spot at WrestleMania 29, Damien Sandow could be a logical option. He has an impressive debut so far with WWE. He shows off his verbal skills by performing his unique, sophisticated promos in one take both in pre-tape and live situations.

Sandow getting the honor of participating in the big DX reunion at Raw 1000 certainly shows how well his heel character is perceived by those in power. A match with Triple H at WrestleMania could be up next.
