Juventus: 5 Big Players Bianconeri Still Have a Chance to Land

Tyler HixsonJun 7, 2018

Juventus have made plenty of noise in the transfer market coming off their title-winning season, but the Old Lady is still looking to sign a couple of more big names before the window closes.

Right now, it seems as if the club is looking to sign any big-name striker available, despite boasting an attack that includes Kwadwo Asamoah, Sebastian Giovinco and Vincenzo Iaquinta.

There's still time left for Juventus to make several moves in the transfer window. Let's take a look at five big-name players that the Old Lady still has a chance to sign.

Nicklas Bendtner

According to Jamie Sanderson of Metro, Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner has sent his agent to Italy to try to find the Arsenal outcast a new club.

Sanderson reports that Bendtner's agent has been dispatched to several Serie A clubs to try to force a move, including both Milan clubs, Genoa and Juventus.

While Bendtner doesn't have quite the star power as some of the other names on this list, he is an effective striker who is strong on the ball and may be able to boss himself around the more technical Italian game.

Stevan Jovetic

Juventus had a €30 million bid rejected by Fiorentina for Stevan Jovetic yesterday, according to Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia), but this doesn't mean the chase is over.

If Juve is serious about signing Jovetic, the club still has time to make a higher bid. Having said that, the team must hurry, since Premier League champions Manchester City are keen on his signature as well (via Goal.com).

The 22-year-old is quick, pacy, has fantastic dribbling ability, close control and adds a bit of flair to the game.

Fernando Llorente

The tall Athletic Bilbao striker has put many teams around Europe on alert after he refused to sign an extension with the club, according to the Associated Press (via ESPN).

Juventus is one of the many sides that are interested in his services.

According to AS (via Football Italia), Llorente has made a personal plea to Bilbao's club president to allow him to leave for Juventus after a €21 million bid failed last week.

Llorente is one of Europe's premier strikers and would add a lot to Juventus' attack. He has the ability to use his size and strength to force his way through defenses.

Edin Dzeko

If a move for Fernando Llorente falls through, Juventus are prepared to make a bid for Manchester City's Edin Dzeko.

Jamie Sanderson of Metro reports that Juventus is preparing an improved offer for the Bosnian after a £15 million bid failed earlier in the summer.

Edin Dzeko has been underutilized by City due to the presence of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli. Therefore, the big striker may welcome a move away from the Etihad.

City, on the other hand, may not be willing to sell after Aguero went down with a knee injury in the first game of the season.

Edinson Cavani

Juventus has also named Napoli striker Edinson Cavani as a potential target to fill the void up top, according to Mundo Deportivo (via ESPN).

As with the rest of the players on this list, Cavani plays as a traditional target man and can use his strength to force play up top.

Cavani has an incredible scoring record that would help any team, but Juventus has to beat the likes of Chelsea (via The Guardian) and Manchester City (via Goal.com) to his signature.
