Little Boy Asks to Marry Novak Djokovic at US Open, Hits Tennis Balls with Idol

Want to hit a few balls at the U.S. Open and don't happen to be the right age or don't happen to be an actual tennis star? Just shout "will you marry me" towards Novak Djokovic. 

All the finer details seem to work themselves out after. 

The video, spotted by Deadspin, features Novak Djokovic practicing at the U.S. Open, and at some point, a boy shouts a marriage proposal onto the court. 

The crowd erupts into laughter and Djokovic wastes no time motioning the kid down onto the court. Instead of merely offering him a wristband or some other keepsake, he does him one better. 

The kid gets to hit some balls at his tennis idol. Not bad for what could have been a lazy hour watching a tennis star warm up. 

Instead, the kid has the memory to last a lifetime. 

Of course, there are some that are being quite cynical about this fine moment between athlete and super fan. The Deadspin report wonders if the whole thing was staged, as does this USA Today report, citing the perfect camera work. 

I say I will remain pleasantly ignorant and believe this was a genuine moment from the U.S. Open. It's easier to maintain a smile that way.
