Marquez-Diaz and John-Juarez All Make Weight for Their Fights in Houston
Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez weighed in today at 134 1/4 lbs for his Lightweight championship fight with Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz who also made weight and weighed in at 134 1/2 lbs.
Marquez definitely appeared to be the more toned and ripped of the two fighters for this WBA/WBO/IBO Lightweight title bout taking place in Houston, Texas the hometown of Diaz. Diaz however has always had a misleading physique.
One may not be able to tell that Diaz is the constant non stop pressure type of fighter with tremendous stamina that he is by just looking at his body.
On the undercard both Chris John and Rocky Juarez made weight for their Featherweight title match for John's WBA Belt. This will be John's world premiere fight in the United States and his 11th title defense against Juarez in his hometown of Houston.
Reports just days earlier stated that John was battling a virus and had trouble making the weight limit however he did weigh in under the Featherweight limit at 125 1/2 lbs.
KING J's Prediction:
I Like both Marquez and Diaz for who they are and what they bring to the sport. However I feel Marquez being the more skilled experienced fighter will counter punch Diaz for the majority of the fight.
Diaz had problems with the more experience veteran Nate Campbell who was his only loss. Marquez is a far better skilled and talented fighter than Campbell. Marquez by UD or late round TKO
Many have not seen Chris John fight before due to him never fighting in America. Despite his criticism, John is an undefeated champion with 10 defenses of his WBA belt.
This is however Rocky's backyard and he is long over due. If John wants to really impress and win over new fans and make a name in the U.S.A. he must stop Rocky which is not a easy thing to do. I see this going to either: John SD or a DRAW
