Buccaneers vs. Redskins: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More

Jun 4, 2018

While the fourth week of the NFL preseason is something that many hardcore NFL fans hate because of the lack of elite play, the position battles are the fiercest you will find all preseason.

The young players and veterans alike will be playing on Wednesday to fight for their careers and make their respective teams.

The Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have many positions left to be filled on their rosters, and Wednesday’s game will settle which players make the team and which will have to find a new place to hang their hat.

Betting Line (via Covers)

Over/Under: 40; Spread: Washington -4

With both teams possibly playing certain starters for varying lengths of time, betting this game will be very difficult. I would go nowhere near this matchup personally, but if you have to pick this game, take the under and take Tampa Bay given the four points. You shouldn’t betting this game, though.

What’s At Stake?

This final preseason game will be nothing close to a normal NFL football game. Having said that, it is the last appetizer before the regular NFL season kicks off.

No big-time starters will see the field for either team, but the position battles that we see on Wednesday will ultimately decide who makes the regular-season roster and who must join the practice squad.

Redskins’ Player to Watch: Kirk Cousins, QB

After spending such a high pick on a star quarterback like Robert Griffin III in the NFL draft this season, Mike Shanahan’s selection of another quarterback in Kirk Cousins left a shadow of doubt over the QB position in Washington.

If Cousins does amazing, as he has when give ample time, trouble could be brewing in DC as far as a controversy goes. Griffin will be the team’s starter, but a great performance from Cousins could shorten the No. 2 overall pick’s leash drastically.

Buccaneers’ Player to Watch: Jordan Shipley, WR

With the addition of Vincent Jackson to a receiving group that already featured Mike Williams, the Buccaneers have upgraded big time. One player that was also a huge addition is former Cincinnati Bengal Jordan Shipley.

Shipley was cut by the Bengals and added to the Buccaneers squad with a shot at slot receiver. His chance at glory comes on Wednesday.

Prediction: Tampa Bay 27, Washington 24

These games are as unpredictable as the weather. Therefore, this prediction is based solely on the depth of each team’s roster.

The Buccaneers have a great team that has a lot more solid players than Mike Shanahan has in D.C.

No matter what the final score is, enjoy the fact that the players on the field are fighting for their careers.

Don't forget that this game marks one week before the regular season kicks off, either.

It can’t come fast enough.
