WWE Raw: Complete Preview, Rumors, News and More for August 27
With another week separating the WWE universe from SummerSlam, the hope now is that the company doesn’t fall back into its old habits and start feeding the same regurgitated stories to us like they usually do for the build to a throwaway pay-per-view like Night of Champions.
After the transition to a three-hour Monday-night program and a stellar SummerSlam PPV, the company needs to prove it doesn’t have to fall back into its old storytelling ways.
The WWE has to continue to move the angles forward; not dwell on the past.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Despite the need to move forward, Triple H will be in attendance to cut a slow promo about how he is thinking about or going to retire when everyone knows he clearly will not.
Let’s just hope that this three hours of wrestling is more bearable than the rest have been so far.
Where: BMO Harris Bradley Center, Milwaukee
When: Monday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. ET

Disgruntled CM Punk
While there are still some questioning if CM Punk is a heel or not, the fact that he kicked the very face Jerry Lawler in the back should have been the ultimate key for the fans to understand. To many fans, though, it still is not clear.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Punk heel?
After attacking The Rock and beating down on Jerry Lawler, the disgruntled WWE champion has clearly gone heel.
If the WWE universe doesn’t want to believe that yet, the continuous interruptions from Cena will trigger another attack this week, as well.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Heel CM Punks
Whatever it is that Punk has scheduled for this week, it better be extraordinary, because this is his chance to shine.
Night of Champions is a secondary show, and the build will be nothing, allowing Punk to carry the build on his shoulders and prove just how valuable he is.

Daniel Bryan’s Anger Management
Over the last three months, there has been no more entertaining of a character in the WWE than the one Daniel Bryan has been playing. With his weasel ways and his whiny attitude, he has become a heel that everyone loves to cheer or boo.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Is D-Bry So Insanely Over?
It was just a few years ago I was watching Bryan Danielson in the National Guard Armory in Philadelphia in front of 500 people, and now the WWE star is performing in front of hundreds of thousands of people each month.
Didn't see that coming.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Best Segments of the Night
As for the anger management that GM A.J. Lee has ordered Bryan into, the last time we saw this angle on Raw it was hilarious. As long as this furthers the storyline and isn’t just a comedy bit, this will work in Bryan’s favor.

Triple H is Back in the WWE Zone
Say what you want about Triple H and his career, but having this man play the retirement card when it is clear as day that he will not be going anywhere is silly. WWE fans like to buy into what is happening, but not when it insults our intelligence.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Triple H Going to 'Retire'?
Whether the fans like it or not, this is the segment in which Triple H comes out and talks about how he gave his all and it wasn’t enough. He will say how he doesn’t know if he has what it takes anymore, but when the actual word retirement comes up, the star will either fake cry and walk away or be interrupted.
Hype Meter: 1 out of 5 Fake Retirements
What makes retirement matches so amazing is the fact that they forever go down in our memories as the last matches of our favorite stars. If Triple H continues to cheapen that angle by injecting himself into one this early, the man will have 15 retirement matches before he ever actually retires.
