Little League World Series Live Blog: Japan, Tennessee Battle for LLWS Title
August 26, 2012
What was thought could’ve been a close game ended via the 10-run as Japan defeated Tennessee 12-2 to win the 2012 Little League World Series.
Kotaro Kiyomiya led Japan from the mound, throwing four innings while only allowing one run—a home run to Tennessee’s Brock Myers. That was the only hit of the day off of Kiyomiya as he also struck out eight. Noriatsu Osaka allowed a home run to Lorenzo Butler in the fifth inning, but that was all that Tennessee could strike for.
Osaka was the MVP from the plate as he went 4-for-4 with three home runs, including a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Japan wins their eighth Little League World Series behind a perfect 5-0 record in Williamsport, Pa.
Thank you to all who tuned in during the game and congratulations to the Little Leaguers from Tokyo, Japan.
