Barclays Golf 2012 TV Coverage: Where to Catch Conclusion of Bethpage Action
If you're a fan of good golf, you don't want to miss the conclusion of the 2012 Barclays tournament.
Although it isn't a major, the leaderboard features some of the biggest names in golf and figures to provide veterans and upstarts alike a good chance to improve their game among the world's best. Here's a look at where you can catch the action for the final day of the tournament.
Where: Bethpage State Park, Black Course, Farmingdale, N.Y.
When: Sunday, August 26, 12-6 p.m. ET
TV Listings: Golf Channel, 12-1:30 p.m. ET, CBS 2-6 p.m. ET
Here are the golfers to keep an eye on when watching the last day of the tournament.
Nick Watney
When you think of elite golfers, the name Nick Watney may not come to mind, but he's playing some great golf thus far at Bethpage.
Watney's first two rounds were brilliant and had him atop the leaderboard. Considering Watney's best finish on the tour this year was an eighth-place finish all the way back in March at the Wells Fargo championship, it is a surprise that he is in the hunt to claim the Barclays tournament.
The final day could be interesting as Watney is not used to being a favorite so watching him deal with that pressure will be a good test for him on the final day.
Were you expecting someone else?
As long as Tiger is playing, he's going to be one of the reasons to tune in.
With the majors out of the way for 2012, Woods can now focus on improving his game for next year and one of the things he must improve is his play on Sundays. Woods has been playing well this year, but has simply faded when it comes to closing out tournaments.
This may not be a major, but it still provides him an opportunity to show he can still close out tournaments.
Sergio Garcia
Sergio Garcia's 2012 has been underwhelming to say the least.
The once prominent star failed to make the cut in both the Open and the PGA Championship and failed to land in the top 10 of any of the major tournaments.
However, it looks like Garcia may be warming up—after claiming the Wyndham Championship just a week ago, he finds himself right in the hunt to win the Barclays on the final day. With a former Players champion attempting to regain his old form, Garcia is definitely a golfer to keep an eye on down the stretch.
