Little League World Series Schedule: TV & Live Stream Info for Semifinal Action

Alex HallJun 7, 2018

The 2012 Little League World Series has just three games left before the tournament concludes, and four teams remain in the hunt for the World Series championship.

Japan and Latin America are ready to battle it out to see who's the best international team left in South Williamsport, PA. The Southeast and the West will battle it out in the United States championship and look to meet the winner of the international contest in the final game of the tournament.

The West is coming off of a blowout victory over Southwest by a score of 11-1 in which the Southeast won a nail-biter with the Southwest to reach the U.S. championship game.

On the international side, Latin America topped Mexico 2-1, and interestingly enough, it was Japan's 4-1 victory over Latin America that brought the former to the title game. Now that you're all caught up on the latest from South Williamsport, here's a complete guide to all of the Aug. 25 semifinal action.

International Championship: Latin America vs. Japan

*Note: Game will not be live streamed on ESPN3.com

Where: Howard J. Lamade Stadium, South Williamsport, PA

When: Saturday, Aug. 25 at 12:30 p.m. ET

Watch: ABC or ESPN 3D

This International championship is a rematch of Game 23 in the tournament, and Latin America hopes to have a different outcome this time around against the Japanese.

Latin America manager Luis Gonzalez told Samantha Ciccocioppo of littleleague.org that he knows his team has the ability to do just that:

"

We're going to have to try to motivate the team. They can beat Japan, it's going to be tough, but they can beat that team.

"

Considering how Gonzalez's team is coming off of a well-earned victory over Mexico, perhaps his team can do just that, but they'll need to forget about Game 23.

Japan is 3-0 through this year's tournament and owns the mental advantage of defeating Latin America to have gained that third win, but the country can't afford to let that get to into its head in the championship.

Despite that record, however, manager Yoichi Kobo believes this team can do better, telling Genaro C. Armas of the Associated Press (h/t Huffington Post): "We have not adjusted to this big stage [offensively]. Our pitching has been very good."

Ultimately though, Japan can win this game on the back of the pitching staff considering how Latin America hasn't scored more than two runs in this tournament since defeating Canada 8-3 in Game 13.

Prediction: Japan 3, Latin America 2

United States Championship: Southeast vs. West

*Note: Game will not be live streamed on ESPN3.com

Where:  Howard J. Lamade Stadium, South Williamsport, PA

When: Saturday, Aug. 25 at 3:30 p.m. ET

Watch: ABC or ESPN 3D

In yet another tournament rematch, the Southeast and the West will compete against one another for the second time in South Williamsport. The Southeast won the first meeting back in Game 14 by a score of 9-3.

The Southeast is the only other undefeated team left in the tournament, besides Japan, and like the Japanese, the Southeast has the mental advantage over its Western opponent. A 9-3 loss is not one that a team forgets easily, but the West will need to do so in order to win the U.S. championship.

Southeast head coach Joey Hale knows how talented both sides are, he told Tom Robinson of The Tennessean, "Whoever wins is going to represent the U.S. very well."

The West couldn't come into this rematch on a better note, however, having won 11-1 over the Southwest to get to this championship game. The Southeast hasn't scored that many runs since Game 2 of the tournament in which the team won by a score of 12-1 against Midwest.

The West should be able to be able to keep up the offensive fire power that has helped the team score 16 runs in the last two games and defeat Southeast en route to the LLWS championship game.

Prediction: West 6, Southeast 4
