Chelsea Transfer Rumors: Blues Reject Manchester City's £30m Bid for David Luiz
David Luiz may not have figured very much in Chelsea's recent 4-2 victory over Reading, but that doesn't mean the club is not keen to keep him.
According to The Sun, the Blues have rejected a £30 million bid from Manchester City for the Brazilian centre-back.
Luiz wasn't in the lineup for Chelsea's home opener on Wednesday against newly promoted Reading, which has added fuel to the fire. The 25-year-old partnered with veteran John Terry at centre-back at the DW Stadium during the club's 2-0 win over Wigan on Sunday, but Gary Cahill took his place against the Royals.

Meanwhile, Luiz used social media in an attempt to disrupt those rumors. Via his personal Twitter account:
"Good morning #geezers ! I'm a little bit sad today, because I can't play tonight,I have pain on my knee! But ok! Come on #CFC
"
That's fine in and of itself, but the Blues were reportedly "angered by the tweet" and subsequently fined Luiz.
"This social media thing is all around us now," said Blues manager Roberto Di Matteo on Thursday. "We’ll deal with it internally.”
Many are speculating that City's rumoured bid for Luiz—who would replace injured centre-back Micah Richards at the Etihad Stadium—is completely false.
However, if that's the case, why so much trouble over a simple tweet?
Whatever the truth, we'll know where Manchester City, Chelsea and David Luiz stand soon—the summer transfer window closes in a little over a week.
Until then, cut back on the social media, David.
