Jones-Drew Situation Could Make Jennings a Hot Fantasy Commodity

J.P. ScottJun 7, 2018

With the Maurice Jones-Drew holdout situation at a standstill, the mere mention of an MJD trade should cause fantasy owners' ears to perk up.

Anyone paying attention to the Jaguars' preseason thus far has watched Rashad Jennings play as well as any running back in the league in Jones-Drew's absence.

At the time of publication, Rashad Jennings was owned in 13 percent of all fantasy leagues, according to CBSsports.com. He's also owned in just 20 percent of leagues on ESPN.com

If your league has yet to draft, make a note of this current situation and expect Jennings to be the breakout sleeper of 2012.

If you haven't already navigated to your fantasy league to pick him up, do it now.

Jennings is an absolute machine with the ball in his hands and has an optimal blend of size and speed.

If MJD leaves town and Jennings lands the starting role, I don't think it's crazy to expect top-10 fantasy production from him at running back.

There is a reason the Jags have held onto to him over past few years, even through a season-ending knee injury in 2011.

The fourth-year back out of Liberty University has earned rave reviews since his arrival in Jacksonville.

Should the Jaguars move on without Jones-Drew, the football world will see exactly why.
