Sacramento Kings Uniforms Named the Ugliest in Professional Sports

In a recent ranking by Paul Lukas on ESPN.com, the Sacramento Kings' uniforms were named the worst in North American professional sports.

The rankings are called "Uni Watch" and they'll be ordering the uniforms of all 122 MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL teams from best to worst.

So far, Lukas has only published from No. 122 to No. 76, with No. 1 scheduled to be unveiled on Aug. 24. But coming in at No. 122 is the Sacramento Kings.

Here's Lukas' explanation for Sacramento's placement as the worst of the four major North American sports leagues.

Every class has a slow kid pulling up the rear, and in this case it's the Kings. Where shall we start -- the brutal color scheme? The illegible chest lettering on the home jersey? The oddly off-center front uni numbers? The clownish number font? The completely incongruous old-school script on the black alternate? A disaster from start to finish. On the bright side, there's nowhere to go but up!

"

Rounding out the rest of the bottom five are (listed from No. 121 to No. 118) the Cincinnati Bengals, Brooklyn Nets, Minnesota Vikings and Colorado Avalanche.

Not that it matters much either way, but it seems obvious that Lukas' main issue, which he points out in his explanation, is the color scheme.

Judging by the rest of his rankings, he's got a real bias against purple. The Minnesota Vikings, whose uniforms are predominantly purple, are in the bottom five.

There are also teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Phoenix Suns and Colorado Rockies that have purple in their uniforms and finished towards the bottom of the 122 ranked.
