Will Lucas Tosses No-Hitter in Little League World Series, Gets Dog Piled

Gabe ZaldivarAug 21, 2012

Will Lucas did his best impression of a real-life superhero when he staved off elimination by tossing a no-hitter at the Little League World Series.

The posted video has everything you need to enjoy an epic feat accomplished by a 12-year-old who just surpassed every last one of my lifetime athletic achievements.

Tickle me frustrated.

ESPN has the finer details.

"

Will Lucas threw a no-hitter to lead Fairfield, Conn., past New Castle, Ind., 4-0 Monday night at the Little League World Series.

The 12-year-old right-hander struck out 13 and also had a two-run single in the fifth. When it was over, he pumped his fist high in the air before falling to the ground as his teammates piled on top of him near the mound.

"

Lucas was aware that he was headed for fame because his teammate Matt Kubel, a Fairfield slugger who homered earlier in the game, told him of his no-hit campaign.

Someone needs to teach these kids about curses and archaic superstitions before they ruin another pitcher's no-hitter. Never talk to your pitcher when he is on is a rule that ranks up there with not talking about Fight Club...doh.

After he punches out the final batter, the team piles on a very proud young man. That's where we learn a very good secret.

It sucks to be at the bottom of a dog pile, even after throwing a no-hitter.
