WWE SummerSlam 2012: Updated Plans for SummerSlam's Main Event
So, you are looking forward to SummerSlam but have been on the fence about buying the event.
I may be able to sway your decision based on the close of the show alone, especially if you're a CM Punk or John Cena fan.

"WWE is finalizing plans for SummerSlam this Sunday night and the current plan is for CM Punk vs John Cena vs Big Show to close the show.As we previously reported, WWE has been considering a John Cena title win at SummerSlam, which would then setup Cena vs Rock II at the Royal Rumble, and then the Rock would go on to face CM Punk at WrestleMania 29. Again, this is a tentative plan as nothing has been finalized at this point.

This is huge news for CM Punk, as I believe this marks the first time in 2012 that he will defend the WWE title in the main event. Yes, I do realize he is only in that spot due to John Cena being one of his opponents; however, it's still a pretty big deal.
Ultimately, we can only hope that Cena does not capture the title at SummerSlam. Don't get me wrong, I do get that it's good for business if Cena wins and eventually takes on The Rock for the gold. Both The Rock and John Cena are money-makers and they would definitely draw more buy-rates if a rematch were to happen.
However, if this happens, Punk gets shafted and we may never see him battle The Rock for the strap. In the end, the decision is in the WWE's hands and if they feel Cena as WWE champ serves them better than Punk, so be it.
