Madden NFL 13: Official Ratings of the Top 100 Running Backs

John DegrooteAug 17, 2012

Not many human beings can do what Adrian Peterson or Maurice Jones-Drew do on the football field, but EA Sports' Madden NFL 13 gives stick jockeys all over the globe a chance to control these elite athletes from the comfort of their couch.

Dominating the running game is one of the most gratifying parts of playing Madden. Using Michael Turner to run over an opponent with the truck stick, or simply outrunning your competition with Chris Johnson and high-stepping into the end zone is an experience no other video game can replicate.

While that cannot be debated, the ratings doled out by EA Sports for these players cause an annual firestorm on message boards across the Internet.

New York Giants fans will argue that Ahmad Bradshaw should have been rated higher, while Philadelphia Eagles fans are furious that LeSean McCoy isn’t fast enough.

While the game isn’t set to be released until August 28, EA Sports has treated us with the official ratings for every running back in the game.

So without further ado, here are the ratings for the top 100 running backs in Madden 13.

Grade: A

It is nice to see Maurice Jones-Drew tied atop the ratings with Adrian Peterson as the best running back in the game.

Jones-Drew does not get a lot of respect, mostly because the Jaguars have been so bad, so it is nice to see him get a good rating in the game. Now if he would only get on the field in real life.

LeSean McCoy and Chris Johnson own the only 99 ratings among running backs. McCoy has a 99 elusiveness rating, while Johnson has 99 speed.

The leading truck stick backs are Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch and Michael Turner, both with 98 ratings.

Trent Richardson is the highest-rated rookie at 83, and should be a solid back in the game.

More player ratings will be released before the Madden NFL 13 hits the market and we will keep you updated here at Bleacher Report.
