WWE SummerSlam 2012 Matches: Bold Predictions for Main-Event Bouts
SummerSlam might be built around one match, but there are plenty of other bouts on the table that are worth talking about for one reason or another. Trying to figure out who will win those matches is another story entirely.
Still, it is fun to look at what could happen prior to the event. SummerSlam is the second-biggest show of the year, so WWE is going to do something that makes everyone stand up and take notice.
It happened last year, with the return of Kevin Nash and Alberto Del Rio winning the WWE Championship.

So what fun will this year's iteration bring?
Here are our bold predictions for the top matches at SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H
When the match was first announced, I thought there was no way that Triple H was losing. As idiotic as that sounds, WWE is always going to push its own guys instead of some "outsider" who is taking Vince McMahon's money, even though McMahon is the one who signed him.
Here we are, just days before the show, and I am more confident than ever that Triple H will win this match. Lesnar has had the upper hand against Triple H for the last two weeks on Raw (Triple H doesn't lose to anyone except the Undertaker), so WWE seemingly wants to use Lesnar to get its own stars over.
With all that known, it would actually be a surprise if Lesnar won. I think he should win, but, when push comes to shove, the powers that be will put Triple H over.
CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Big Show
I don't have a good feeling for who will win this match, though I can say with near-absolute certainty that Big Show is not going to win the championship.
Since this is going to come down to Punk vs. Cena, history would suggest that Cena goes over. Cena hasn't been the champion in nearly a year, which has undoubtedly caused McMahon to wake up in a fit of rage every single night.
Even with that out there, Punk should go over in this match. If he is doing a slow heel turn, I think it makes more sense to keep him as the "top guy" for the time being. But expect Big Show to be the one who knocks Cena out, then Punk steals the pinfall.
Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio
WWE keeps giving Alberto Del Rio title matches for no apparent reason, but he is not going to win one because the company has little faith in him.
Sheamus is one of Triple H's boys, so he will defeat Del Rio in this match. However, Dolph Ziggler is carrying around a little briefcase that needs to be cashed in sooner or later.
Since WWE wants one big surprise for the show, Ziggler cashes in his briefcase after defeating Chris Jericho earlier in the show to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
