Robin Van Persie: Star Striker Makes Manchester United Hands-Down EPL Favorite
The acquisition of superstar striker Robin van Persie makes Manchester United the hands-down favorite to conquer the English Premier League in 2012-13.
According to Arsenal's official team website:
"Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United. Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.

That means the 29-year-old forward will stay in England, but head to a club that nearly won the EPL last season.
The addition of van Persie has to make Sir Alex Ferguson's United club the favorite to win the EPL this time around.
No player in the EPL scored more goals than van Persie last season. The Dutchman's 30 goals set the pace, while United's Wayne Rooney came in a close second with 27. Now, both world-class forwards will suit up for the same team this fall and will ultimately put the Red Devils over the top.
Although City boast top goal-scoring talents like Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli up front, that combination doesn't come close to foiling the duo of van Persie and Rooney.
In addition to added energy that will come from moving to an undeniable contender, van Persie should be motivated to prove himself to all the disgruntled Arsenal fans and to his new supporters at Old Trafford.
Coming into the summer, there looked to be little United could do to make a massive transfer splash and boost their lineup. But now, it seems that the team that won 28 of its 38 matches last season will be even stronger in 2012-13.
The acquisition of van Persie will take United from great to incredible this fall. With the EPL's two best scorers on board, there is simply no stopping Manchester United this season.
Despite all that City have done to conquer England, United enters the new year as the hands-down favorite to return to the top of the table.
