WWE SummerSlam 2012 Results: Daniel Bryan Defeats Kane
After a wild match at the 2012 version of WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, it was Daniel Bryan who emerged victorious over Kane.
Despite the fact that the majority of the WWE Universe felt that Kane would be the ultimate victor in this battle, it was Bryan that overcame the odds and finally got a great PPV moment like he so richly deserves.
With serious momentum on his side, Bryan has gotten over with the crowd huge because of his “yes” and “no” chants, and the WWE realizes that they can’t pass on fully capitalizing on the success anymore.

What It Means
There have been questions for a long time about how much the WWE values Bryan and what he offers, but a win over Kane at the company’s second-biggest PPV of the year proves his stock is not only as a funny character, but as a dangerous force in the ring.
The development of Bryan’s character as a mentally unstable star that freaks out all the time is great and it has even the most casual wrestling fans buying in; that’s the key. With this heavy push, it’s clear WWE sees the potential.
This success at SummerSlam and continual spotlight on WWE television has many fans—and more importantly, WWE officials—believing that Bryan is one of the biggest rising stars in the company.
What’s Next?
The hope is that WWE sees the huge amount of success that Bryan is having and decides now is as good as any time to give him another main-event push.
While he should be back in the World title scene, he needs a feud he can win or at least puts him over as a huge star. Someone like John Cena maybe?
As we saw on Raw, the WWE pitted Cena and Bryan against one another likely to test the water in case that feud was needed. With talk of Punk feuding with The Rock, Cena versus Bryan would be amazing.
