Liverpool Transfer Rumors: Nuri Sahin Would Be Perfect Addition for Reds

Nuri Sahin would be the perfect addition for Liverpool's squad as Brendan Rodgers' side looks to continue their strong preseason play into the start of the Premier League season on Saturday.

According to the Guardian, Liverpool are among the clubs interested in the midfielder.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Milan also feature on the list of clubs trying to sign Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin on loan. Liverpool, meanwhile, are hoping to loosen Fulham's grip on Clint Dempsey by chucking Charlie Adam into the goodie bag on offer in exchange for the American.

As good as Clint Dempsey and Charlie Adam are, both of them do not have the attacking quality that Sahin has. Sahin would instantly become the second best midfielder on Liverpool if he joined the club via loan, with captain Steven Gerrard still being the best of the group.

Sahin would be able to bolster the Liverpool attack tremendously with his pinpoint passing skills. Forwards Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and Fabio Borini would greatly benefit from the Turkish international's presence in the midfield alongside Gerrard.

Anfield is the perfect place for Sahin because he would receive a lot of time on the pitch, possibly even a regular spot in the starting XI—in addition to not having the pressure of being on a legitimate title contender.

If not playing in the Champions League is something he can work with, then Liverpool is the perfect situation for Sahin. With him in the squad, the Reds could contend for a spot in Europe's most prestigious club tournament next season.

If Madrid decide to loan Madrid, then Liverpool must do everything they can to bring him to Anfield. It will be interesting to see if Rodgers' relationship with Madrid manager Jose Mourinho can help Liverpool complete a move for Sahin if both parties are willing to make a deal.
