TNA Impact Wrestling: Complete Preview, Rumors, News and More for August 16

With Hardcore Justice out of the way and TNA’s No Surrender next on the schedule, the build towards the company’s biggest pay-per-view, Bound For Glory, is in full swing.

This week’s episode of Impact Wrestling will go a long way in building to the BFG series finale Sep. 9, when the top four combatants compete in a playoff to determine the No. 1 contender.

In the meantime, TNA will be holding down the fort with its current storylines for at least the next month. That means more Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode, more random BFG matches and a few appearances by Aces and Eights as well.

No matter what, TNA Impact Wrestling will be worth the watch Thursday.

The TNA Title Scene

Despite there being a no-rematch clause in the contract Austin Areis and Bobby Roode signed before their Hardcore Justice match, there is no way TNA will give A-Double a holdover feud with only two months until Bound For Glory. 

Question on Everybody's Mind: How Will TNA get Roode to Fight Aries Again?

With a bona fide lawyer hanging out in the back—Joseph Park—there is no doubt TNA will find a way to keep this excellent feud going. There was a double-pin in the match as well, so TNA has plenty of chances to make this happen for at least one more month.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Perfect Holdover Feuds

After yet another win, TNA’s plan to keep the belt around Aries' waist until at least Bound For Glory is obvious.

While fans hate seeing the outcome so clearly, the matches between Roode and Aries have been great, so this is not a bad thing.

Bound For Glory Series

We are just two months away from TNA’s biggest PPV of the year, and three months of matches are going to culminate in an action-packed tournament at No Surrender.

With that said, there is no clear winner anymore.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Who Is Going to Win?

The popular feeling was that James Storm was going to win and face of with Roode at Bound For Glory, but Aries red-hot streak has thrown a wrench in the works. My gut feeling is that it could be a three-way match between Roode, Aries and Storm. 

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Random Matches

This week’s scheduled matches will be Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels. While both of these are amazing matches, I’m very concerned about the latter because of the now infamous Claire Lynch; I know she’ll be back and it won’t make fans happy.

Aces and Eights

While many fans have been stuck on the fence about whether or not they like the idea of the gang beating up on the TNA stars, this is an interesting angle that has causal fans waiting for the payoff. That’s enough to keep them tuning in each week.

Question on Everybody's Mind: When Will We Get the Leader’s Reveal?

Aces and Eights has been attacking the talent for over a month now, so the resolution has to come to fruition sooner rather than later. While it should happen before Bond For Glory, there is little doubt that TNA could wait until their marquee PPV.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Sketchy Returns

There are so many more questions than answers when it comes to the gang, its members and its leader, but the idea of a stable is a good thing. One of the biggest problems with the WWE right now is the lack of an elite stable that can cause havoc.
