The Expendables 2 Terry Crews Talks Football, Stallone and Chuck Norris: BR5
Welcome to BR5, your daily source for sports and pop culture news.
Got plans for this weekend? Other than some sports on the television, you may need some assistance as you look ahead to the weekend. BR5’s got you covered. The Expendables 2 releases Friday, August 17th, and BR5 got a chance to catch up with Terry Crews, who plays the returning character in the series: “Hale Caesar.”
Crews talked about a whole multitude of things from the upcoming film, to football and sometimes both! The Expendables 2 went even further than the first installment by bringing back action superstars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, and Randy Couture. Then they upped the ante by adding Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
So here’s a simple question for Crews, if the Expendables were a football team, who would play where?
Crews said, first and foremost, that the Expendables would definitely be the Oakland Raiders. As the characters in the film are similar to the Raiders of old, known for being unwanted by other teams just like the Expendables. Then Crews took it a step further. He gave us a rundown on what position everyone would play on the team.
He said Stallone would definitely be the Quarterback of the team. Statham would be the team’s Running Back. He says Schwarzenegger would be the Coach, as he doesn’t like to get dirty. He said Willis is a General Manager type. Van Damme would be Strong Safety due to his ability to be sneaky, and a little dirty. Jet Li would be a Wide Receiver as he’s so athletic and dynamic. Crews said he would be the Linebacker, as he has previous experience at the position. Couture would be a physical Offensive Lineman, and Norris would be the kicker, as he’s always dependable in a clutch situation.
So what do you think? Could you see these guys suiting up and playing with the big boys? Do you agree with how Crews positioned the squad? Let us know below!
