The preseason EPL transfer window is starting to shut, and Liverpool has less than three weeks left to finalize their squad.

Boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to make a big splash at Anfield this fall, having already signed Fabio Borini and Joe Allen, but will look to continue bringing talent to the Reds.

According to a report by the staff at Metro, the Reds are gunning for the Arsenal striker to bolster their attack.

It seems that the English international has been around forever, but he’s just 23 years old and still has yet to reach his prime.

Walcott provides great pace up top and looked amazing during Euro 2012, boosting his stock against Sweden with a goal and assist while clearly being the fastest player on the pitch.

With Arsene Wenger bringing Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski over to Emirates Stadium this summer, it seems Walcott is no longer in favor with the Gunners.

The right offer could certainly see the speedy attacker land in Anfield.

Clint Dempsey

Rumors have been swirling for weeks about the Fulham star making the jump to Liverpool FC. But it seems that Rodgers will not overpay for the 29-year-old American.

Dempsey is doing his best to provoke his current club into shipping him away from Craven Cottage rather than play out of the last year of his contract.

According to The Daily Mail, the midfielder is refusing to report to training camp in hopes that it will force Martin Jol to sell him for a reported £5 million (Liverpool’s price) rather than £10 million (what Fulham is seeking).

It’s likely Dempsey’s last chance to earn a significant roster spot with a top-flight EPL team, so the Team USA star has every right to attempt to secure a move to the Reds.
