PGA Championship 2012: Updated Leaderboard Heading into Final Round
Rory McIlroy is well-positioned to win the second major championship of his career, as he sits atop the leaderboard at the PGA Championship heading into Sunday's final round.
Mother nature caused part of the third round to be finished on Sunday, as rain forced play to be suspended on Saturday.
McIlroy showed some impressive mental toughness by overcoming his poor three-over-par performance in Round 2 with a five-under third-round performance to capture the lead.
It's his tournament to lose, and unless he collapses on the back nine, he should not have too much trouble winning the final major championship of the 2012 season.
Tiger Woods started the tournament off well, but struggled in the third round, finishing two-over par. He made four bogeys on the front nine and five total in Round 3. Woods will enter the fourth round five strokes behind McIlroy, and he'll need a near-perfect round to have a chance to win the tournament.
Adam Scott, whose meltdown at the British Open is still fresh in the minds of golf fans everywhere, will certainly be one of the players to watch on Sunday. He is currently four strokes back at three-under par.
The already challenging Kiawah Island Resort course, one that has been affected by lots of rain, will make it difficult for the players to shoot under par on Sunday. Whoever can make the fewest mistakes and make pars will have the most success.
Take a look at the leaderboard heading into what promises to be an exciting final round.
