Manchester City vs. Chelsea: Why a Blues Win Will Do Wonders for the Club
It might be a friendly to Manchester City, but Chelsea should be looking at this match much differently and understand that a win would be a huge boost for the Blues.
First off, this will be a great measuring stick for Chelsea as they square off against the Barclays Premier League champs in Manchester City. The Blues weren't too shabby themselves after winning the UEFA Champions League. But even the biggest fan must admit they backed into that one.
But things will certainly be much different this year.

Chelsea has been busy during the offseason, adding a bunch of new talent—both youthful and experienced—to their club.
This match will not only be a great first test for the Blues' new players, but it will also give them a chance to gel and develop chemistry. Playing against an elite club like City is a great opportunity to see just what these new players are made of.
I mentioned the youth added to the Blues roster, but with youth comes inexperience. Playing a club like City will be a great way to learn and grow in a positive direction, despite the fact that playing Manchester City won't lend itself to on-the-job training.
Sometimes, as is the case in life, you have to learn the hard way.
With their new additions, aspirations for the upcoming season will no doubt be much higher for Chelsea.
However, those aspirations and the momentum that goes with it will be shot clean out of the sky if the Blues don't at least compete and/or win this match. The Premier League has yet to begin, but this is already one of the more important matches the Blues will have this year.
