Bold Predictions for Top Golfers
Tiger Woods
Woods is not the same golfer he once was on Sundays. Combine that with the fact that he's five shots back and you have a recipe for failure.
Sadly for Tiger, the PGA Championship will not end his major winless streak and he will continue his dismal play on the final day of majors.
If his three-over through seven holes is evidence of anything, it's that Woods is not ready to win this major.
Vijay Singh
Being that its been a long time since Singh has won anything, golf fans would love to see him win another major.
But it isn't in the cards for the Fijian, no matter how well he's played during the PGA Championship.
With his younger counterparts surging to the top of the leaderboard, Singh will play well enough to keep himself in it, but sadly doesn't have the driver and putting skills necessary to keep up.
It will be an impressive showing in this major for the 49-year-old, but his time has passed and the younger generation's time is now.
Rory McIlroy
Collapses at majors are nothing new for McIlroy and while he won't do that this time around, it's still hard to imagine McIlroy holding on to such a slim lead.
He's playing his best golf of the tourney at the moment, but that could change in an instant. McIlroy already has a major under his belt and that makes him slightly less hungry for this win than Scott.
In the end, McIlroy will play well enough to win and finish strong, but he will be slightly outdone by Scott.
Adam Scott
There's no doubt that after shooting four-under before play was suspended, Scott is playing his best golf of the tourney and it couldn't come at a better time.
Scott won't have the same pressure that he had at the British Open and that will be a huge help. He won't have a big lead and this time, he'll be playing from behind.
Expect to see a much calmer version of Scott's game on Sunday and considering his epic collapse at the Open Championship, it couldn't get any worse for him.
Scott will continue to surge and capture his first major, erasing the painful memory of what happened less than a month ago.
