Chelsea Transfer News: Tracking All the Latest Rumors and Updates
Backed by Roman Abramovich, Chelsea have once again asserted their dominance in the summer transfer window—bringing in fantastic young talent in Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin.
The Blues have now turned their attention to several other players—rumored to be interested in several top-class players throughout the world and linked to many others.
Read on to see the latest transfer news and updates for Chelsea, and see just who might be making a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Victor Moses
1 of 6According to The Daily Mirror, Chelsea look set to sign Wigan winger Victor Moses for around £9 million, after Wigan boss Dave Whelan finally consented to a deal.
The Blues have been chasing Moses for some time now, and the talented Nigerian looks set to move to Stamford Bridge after completing a medical and sorting out personal terms with the UEFA Champions League victors.
Hulk
2 of 6The Blues, however, do look likely to miss out on their long-standing transfer target in Porto striker Hulk after they dropped further down the pecking order for the 26-year-old.
ESPN Soccernet reports that the Blues have denied making a move for the £60 million rated striker, whilst The Daily Mirror states Zenit St. Petersburg have moved ahead of Chelsea after showing they were willing to make a £40 million offer for the Brazilian.
Either way, it seems Hulk won't be coming to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Andre Schurrle
3 of 6After having a previous offer of £16 million rejected by Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea look set to offer a new bid for striker Andre Schurrle—believed to be around £20 million, according to The Daily Mail (h/t Goal).
The 21-year-old had a strong year last year—which included a call-up for the German team at the 2012 European Championships—and would no doubt be an excellent signing for Chelsea.
Stephan Lichtsteiner
4 of 6The Blues are also rumored to be interested in Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, who is considered another option at right back for the London club (per The Daily Mirror).
With the departure of Jose Bosingwa, Chelsea are in need of another option at right-back, especially if Branislav Ivanovic makes a move into the middle of the pitch.
Lichtsteiner is believed to cost around £5 million.
Cesar Azpilicueta
5 of 6Another option at right-back is Cesar Azpilicueta, whom the Blues have been chasing for some time now.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo is open to selling players over the summer transfer window—including Azpilicueta, who is believed to cost around £8.5 million.
"Like everyone else, we have to sell before we can buy. That means either Azpilicueta or [centre-back] Stephane M'Bia will have to go.
Azpilicueta has the profile to go to a big club.
"
Edinson Cavani
6 of 6And wrapping up our Chelsea transfer news this week is Edinson Cavani, who the Blues seem to be moving to as their top attacking transfer target throughout the remainder of the summer transfer window.
"Chelsea are confident of sealing a deal worth just under £30million for the 25-year-old.
They will attempt to use Napoli's interest in midfielder Raul Meireles to help them capture Edinson Cavani. Chelsea will hope to include the £9million-rated star in a deal for Napoli striker Cavani.
