Dwayne Bowe is still likely to continue holding out until Week 1 according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com. Florio said that a source confirmed the earlier reports were false.

The previous report stating that Bowe and the Chiefs had reached a deal appears to be false.

With this latest developement, he will continue to be unavailable for the team's preseason games until he does in fact agree to terms with the team. However, as PFT reported, that is unlikely because he is unhappy after not coming to a long-term agreement with the franchise prior to the July 16 deadline.

-------End of Update----

After a one-week holdout from training camp, Dwayne Bowe has reportedly agreed to terms with the Kansas City Chiefs.

KMBC 9 News in Kansas City reports the wideout reached an agreement with the Chiefs Friday afternoon, according to a source. The team has yet to confirm the deal and terms of the agreement have not been released.

Bowe, 27, most likely signed his $9.5 million tender after receiving the team’s franchise tag. Because he failed to reach a long-term-contract agreement with the Chiefs before the league’s July 16 deadline, it is virtually the only option for the standout wide receiver.

The Chiefs' first-round pick in 2007, Bowe is coming off an impressive couple of seasons in which he amassed over 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns.

His big-play ability has made him a significant weapon for the Chiefs, but is also integral in setting up his teammates, since opposing secondaries zero in on him.

With the added firepower in Kansas City and the return of several key injured players, this signing is certainly an important step forward in the Chiefs' hopes of returning to relevancy and competing in the AFC West.

Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers have command of two very potent offenses, but Bowe’s return puts the K.C. offense back on par with its divisional rivals.

He will not be available for the team's preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals, but may be ready for next week’s clash with the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.

Stay tuned for more details on the contract as they become available.
