Manchester United Transfer News: Van Persie Would Be Amazing, Says Rooney
Robin van Persie is desperately wanted by Manchester United.
They've cut away the pretense and the guise that normally clouds the summer transfer window and are seemingly giving this transfer their best to try and lure the Dutch international to the club this summer.
Everyone at Old Trafford seems to want Van Persie in a Red Devils shirt for the upcoming English Premier League season—including Wayne Rooney, who recently commented via The Daily Mirror that the addition of the Gunners striker would be amazing.

"Of course [I'd want him to move]. He's a fantastic player that I admire. He's a fantastic player; he's been amazing for Arsenal over many years.
Last season was probably his best season of all—he scored lots of goals. If he does come here it would be a great addition to the squad.
"
The England international was then asked whether he felt that he and Van Persie could work together on the pitch at the same time—a focal point in the transfer discussions so far.
"I'd like to think so, but you'd have to ask the manager about that. There's still a lot of forwards here with myself, [Danny] Welbeck, Chicharito and [Dimitar] Berba, who’s still here. So there’s a lot of forwards fighting for a place.
But I’m excited, I feel good, I feel fresh and I’m looking forward to the new season. It’s a big season for us after last season and we all need to be ready for it.
"
The news comes as an interesting development in the United-Van Persie saga, which has found new life in the past couple of days—mainly due to the Red Devils' new-found interest in the striker.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is continuing to try and seal a deal with the club—putting the onus of the transfer on them—and doing everything he can to bring the wantaway striker from the Emirates to Old Trafford.
According to The Guardian, chief executive David Gill will step in to oversee RVP's potential transfer to Manchester United this summer as he tried to broker a deal with Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
"But if Manchester United increase their bid in excess of £20million a deal is likely to be brokered this weekend between Gill, 56, and Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
"Both are on the English FA’s Professional Game Board and the FA Council. Gill was in London this week to help drum up additional support at an Manchester United investor roadshow hosted by lead adviser Jefferies Group Inc.
With all the big players at Old Trafford seemingly vested in the transfer of Van Persie, it might not be long before we see a move take place by the 29-year-old this summer.
Manchester Untied have already beaten interest from Juventus and Manchester City to still be in the race for Robin van Persie and could well land the star striker over the summer transfer window.
Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson both seem to think so.
Will Robin van Persie make a move to Manchester Untied this summer?
