Team USA basketball is on the verge of winning Olympic gold on the men's and women's side, as both American teams have been dominant for the overwhelming majority of their time on the court in London.
Both teams cruised to a 5-0 record in preliminary play, with the men receiving the only scare at the hands of the Lithuanians.

The US women received their first true test in the semifinals against a strong Australian team, but they managed to win 86-73, their smallest margin of victory in these Olympics.
The men were impressive against Australia in the quarterfinals, 119-86, and were helped by a triple double from LeBron James.
A tough semifinal matchup against a gritty Argentina team that won the 2004 gold medal in Athens awaits. The winner of that battle will face the winner of the Spain vs. Russia game. The Americans won handily over the Spanish national team in an exhibition outing, 100-78, but Marc Gasol did not play.
