Aly Raisman's Deleted Tweet Causing Internet Ruckus Is Probably Fake

Aly Raisman may or may not have gone to a club with a bunch of boys. The real issue facing the Internet is whether she actually sent out a tweet and then tried to cover her 18-year old tracks. 

Larry Brown Sports has a report of star US Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman tweeting out her intention to go to a club with some boys. 

Apparently, she thought better of it all and took down the tweet, because it no longer resides in her feed. Funny enough, she tweets a little later that she is going to bed early. 

Here is the alleged earlier tweet of her nefarious plans to go clubbing. 

I think we can all agree that an 18-year old Olympian can go let off some steam with fellow countrymen gymnasts. But whatever, the main point is that this tweet doesn't exist, but this one does.

At first glance, it seems that Raisman deleted her tweet and posted a much more wholesome one. And that is what a lot of people believe. 

Larry Brown Sports, BuzzFeed and the San Francisco Chronicle were just a few outlets that took on the story and went with the angle of a young woman who thought better of her tweet. 

Some things that caught our eye: 

• Initial tweet doesn't have a blue verified check, unlike the actual Twitter account of Aly Raisman. 
• The initial tweet has a completely different picture of Raisman. So she would have had to delete her pic and decide it was time to change her avatar as well. What a go getter.  
• The pic used is from her 2011 Prom, a tad dated considering she is at the London Olympics, an event that would mandate a coinciding pic.
• Lack of time stamp makes it hard to verify when this would have been tweeted. 

It seems someone out there wanted the world to think Aly Raisman was the type to just jump in a car and go clubbing with a bunch of gymnasts. 

Silly, because she is more the type to get some early shut eye, just as her actual Twitter feed proves. 

Don't believe everything you hear, and only half of what you see...and about a tenth of the tweets that are floating around the wild Internet.
