Notable players on the field

Keegan Bradley will try to successfully defend his 2011 title. The 26-year-old won last week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at 13-under, one stroke from Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker.

Tiger Woods will try to grab his 15th major title and reclaim the top spot of the Official World Golf Ranking. Woods is the golfer who has gained more ranking points this year (279.1).

Rory McIlroy wants to put an end to his winless streak and his hoping to achieve it in style. The Norther Irish hasn't won since last March (The Honda Classic).

Luke Donald needs to bring his A game if he wants to keep his status as the best player in the world. Donald has yet to win a major title and the PGA Championship is his last chance of the year.

Webb Simpson is back in business after receiving his second child (a daughter). The 2012 U.S. champion missed last year's cut.

Phil Mickelson, who won last February's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, hasn't won a major since 2010 when he wore The Masters green jacket.
