Madden 2013 Player Ratings: QBs Whose Deep-Play Abilities Make Them Deadly

Richard LangfordAug 9, 2012

Eli Manning is going to be a beast in Madden 2013. In terms of overall ranking, he is fourth, but he is No. 1 in deep accuracy at a sterling 96.

This is going to make the Giants, with their talented receivers, a tough offense to play against.

Anyone who has played Madden enough, just like real football, knows there is no defense for a perfect pass. It is this fact that always leaves me a little astonished that QB accuracy does not get as much hype as arm strength or foot speed.

That said, you have to have solid arm strength to get the ball deep enough to matter. So don't worry arm-strength fans, we haven't forgotten about you.

Below are three QBs, who will all be consistently able to drill deep passes and give users an unstoppable offense.

Before we get into the three highlighted QBs, I should mention that Aaron Rodgers has a 94 on deep accuracy and a 97 on power, but I didn't include him on this list because the dude is a 99 overall and the highest rated QB in the game. He is great at everything; there is no sense singling him out on this list.

Eli Manning, Giants

Overall: 97

Deep Accuracy: 96

Throw Power: 90

These ratings are well-deserved for Manning. He was dropping dimes all the way to a Super Bowl championship. His 96 is the highest deep accuracy on the board, and the arm strength is among the best in the game.

Manning's speed is just a 65, so you aren't going to want to be going outside the pocket, but a vertical attack will not have a better QB than Manning.

Tony Romo, Cowboys

Overall: 90

Deep Accuracy: 90

Throw Power: 90

Romo's deep numbers were a bit of a surprise. He can throw a beautiful deep ball, but isn't always the most accurate, but he will be in next year's Madden.

Only Rodgers and Manning check in with a higher deep accuracy. Romo has decent speed at 73, but he will be best used as a pocket QB in a vertically oriented offense.

Robert Griffin III, Redskins

Overall: 83

Deep Accuracy: 88

Throw Power: 95

Robert Griffin is going to be a blast in Madden. His throwing and deep accuracy are among the best in the game, and he also checks in with a 93 in speed.

As he is a rookie, his awareness is low, but the choices he will give users are phenomenal.

Griffin will be a threat to run, but opponents are going to have a hard time bringing any safeties in to help contain him with this kind of deep arsenal.
