HBO Hard Knocks: Ryan Tannehill and Dolphins Who Will Be Stars of Reality Show

Brian MaziqueAug 7, 2012

Ryan Tannehill is the highest selected rookie and quarterback for a team with a shaky situation under center. We all expect him to get tons of face time as HBO's Hard Knocks series kicks off with the Miami Dolphins Tuesday night at 10 PM ET.

The Dolphins have Matt Moore and David Garrard on the roster, but no one should be surprised to see Tannehill under center by the end of the season. This will especially be the case if the Fins struggle.

There's nothing like a quarterback controversy, and you can magnify that 10 times when some of it takes place in a reality show. The Tannehill watch will begin if the Dolphins fall out of playoff contention, and HBO will have the behind the scenes look.

Here are two other Dolphins who will be popular on Hard Knocks:

Reggie Bush

From dating Kim Kardashian to the scandal at USC, Bush has always been a lightning rod for attention. Now that he seems to have found a place in Miami, his play may begin to speak loudest of all.

Even with a solid season, there is still a very Hollywood quality about Bush, and HBO is bringing Hollywood to Miami. Which quality will be the most prominent for Bush this season?

There is no way a guy like Bush won't be the main man in at least three episodes. Maybe it'll be because of an electrifying run, or maybe it'll be because of a hot date. Either way we'll see a lot of Reggie.

Joe Philbin

A rookie head coach on Hard Knocks? Who thought this was a good idea?

I surely wouldn't have voted for this if I were a part of the organization. Philbin is largely unproven and the Dolphins are starving for a winner.

They have the aforementioned variable at quarterback in a football crazed state.

I don't see how a reality show helps add stability to a team that needs just that. It does, however, add some dough, and that genuinely trumps all in sports.

Meanwhile, we may be watching a first-time coach crash and burn before our eyes. Well, I guess that's what cable television is made for.
