Madden 13: Ray Rice and 10 Best RBs in EA Sports' Hit Game

Brian MaziqueAug 7, 2012

The ratings continue to roll in for the initial rosters for Madden 13. These ratings will change as the season progresses (via online roster updates), but the ratings being released now will be the defaults.

Last week, EA Sports released the ratings for the quarterbacks, and I wrote this article and attached the video highlighting the top 10.

Now it's time for the running backs.

The video features a nice countdown, so I won't spoil that for you if you haven't already seen or heard about it.

Instead, I'll give you a few backs that don't appear in the top 10, but could make their way up the ladder after updates.

Trent Richardson, Cleveland Browns

I know he's just a rookie, but Richardson is perhaps the most NFL-ready rookie this season. He has a north-south running style, and he plays in an offense that is committed to the run.

I believe he's going to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year, and he could make a strong run at top-10 status by midseason.

LeGarrette Blount, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Blount is a beast, and now that the Bucs have sunk a good chunk of money into their offensive line, this could be his breakout season.

After last season, there is no where to go but up for the team, and I think a healthy Blount could be the biggest reason. I'm predicting a 1,300-yard season for the former Oregon Duck with the mean right-hand.

Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders

Don't sleep on "Run DMC." Through seven games last year, he had 614 yards and was averaging 5.4 yards per carry, but as usual, he got hurt.

That is the only thing preventing McFadden from being an elite back in the NFL, as he has always had the tools. Something about this year feels different though, and I think he'll remain healthy.

There is no Michael Bush hovering for short-yardage situations, and it's weird how seemingly unrelated things can be affected by each other.

I say McFadden stays healthy this year and is one of the top three backs in the AFC.
