Terrell Owens Stuns Critics with Incredible 40-Yard Dash Time

Ryan PhillipsJun 7, 2018

Terrell Owens blew everyone away today when the veteran receiver ran a 40-yard dash in less than 4.5 seconds, according to ESPN's Mike Sando. Bear in mind that T.O. is 38 years old, measured in at 6'3" and 224 pounds and is coming off surgery to repair a torn ACL.

The Seattle Seahawks were giving Owens the workout, and according to ESPN's Ed Werder, the team is expected to sign him to a contract.

Owens last played in the NFL in 2010 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. That season, he caught 72 balls for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.

Last season, he didn't sign with an NFL team, but he played eight games for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He had 35 receptions for 420 yards and 10 touchdowns before being released.

Owens joins Braylon Edwards as veteran wideouts who have joined the Seahawks in the past few days. While he is expected to be a long shot to make Seattle's roster, with Sidney Rice being brought along slowly in the preseason, it may not be so far-fetched.

Owens is currently sixth on the all-time receptions list with 1,078, is second in receiving yards (15,934) and is tied for second in receiving touchdowns (153).

He is and always has been one of the more physically impressive receivers in the NFL, but his attitude and mental toughness have always been questioned. We'll see how he fits in on the Seahawks and whether or not his time away from the NFL has helped his mental state.
