Chelsea Transfer News: Ashley Cole Denies Chelsea Exit

Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has hit back at claims that he is seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge over the summer transfer window—rejecting reports that suggested his contract negotiations with the club were stalling.

The future of the 31-year-old had been the subject of much speculation this summer (per The Guardian) as he entered the final year of his contract at the club. However, Cole stated via Twitter that the current rumors were exactly that—rumors—and that a new contract is in the process of being made.

This is good news for Blues fans, who will be eager to start the English Premier League season with the strongest squad possible.

The Champions League victors have already acquired Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin for next season and will be looking to gain both domestic and European success again this year.

Keeping Ashley Cole seems like a good first step for Chelsea.
