First Metallica, then Charlie Sheen—now DJ Pauly D?

That's right, folks, it appears the WWE has landed Pauly D's services. According to WrestlingInc.com:

MTV's Pauly D will be the DJ for WWE's SummerSlam VIP kick-off party on August 16th at The Pool at The Beverly Hills Hotel. As usual, WWE will be doing a lot of events in the Hollywood area that week.

The good news is we won't be seeing him take to the ring. You may remember several of his Jersey Shore brethren have already stepped in the ring and, with the exception of Snooki, most have proved disastrous.

Ultimately, I anticipate the WWE will be announcing several other big names to partake in the 25th anniversary of SummerSlam. Let's face it: Going live from Los Angeles has its benefits when attempting to attract star power.

In the end, I am hopeful that they will be utilized as celebrity appearances and have no in-ring involvement. Don't get me wrong: Some celebrity appearances have been great; however, most of them wind up being memorable for all the wrong reasons.

I guess we shall see what the WWE has in store for us in the weeks to come. One thing is certain: They are going to do their best to make sure the show goes off without a hitch.
