So, it appears we may finally have an answer as to when the long-awaited, newly-designed WWE title will debut.
According to WrestleZone.com:
A fan who attended the Wizard World Comic Con event, which featured a Q&A with WWE Champion CM Punk, posted his in depth thoughts on the event at WrestlingRambles.com. Below are highlights, and you can read much more by clicking on the above link:
CM Punk talked about a new design for the WWE Championship title. I think he said it’s coming soon and it will be something he helped create. He teased that it could happen at SummerSlam or maybe at the next Pay-Per-View after SummerSlam which is in Boston, John Cena’s hometown.
You may remember that Punk teased this a few months ago. It was followed by a "leaked" photo that sent many fans up in arms. Ultimately, if Punk did help with the design, it could mean that the WWE is truly invested in the "straight-edge" superstar.
However, if they wait to debut it in Cena's hometown, we could be seeing yet another run from "Super-Cena." In the end, this title will not see the light of day until the WWE is ready for it.
However, you can rest assured that when it does, every WWE fan alive will have their opinion.
