WWE News: Chris Jericho's SummerSlam Status Changed, Will Be Available
Those who have been upset about Chris Jericho disappearing before SummerSlam, despair no longer. Wrestlezone is reporting (by way of PWInsider.com) that Jericho's touring scheduling with Fozzy has changed for the better (WWE-wise):
"According to PWInsider.com, Chris Jericho's band Fozzy is no longer being advertised to play the Uproar Music Festival on August 19th, making Jericho available to appear at SummerSlam.
"
The question becomes, though, what does WWE do with Jericho now that they know this information?

Jericho is currently in a feud with up-and-coming main-event player Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler, despite winning Money in the Bank, desperately needs something to finally put him over the top and make him into a credible threat. Jericho, given his track record, is a great choice to do that.
Now that Jericho is no longer going to be disappearing after August 13 (his original last date in WWE) and will therefore almost definitely be at SummerSlam (which I'm still guessing will be Jericho's last match with WWE for a while), I'm assuming that this will allow Ziggler to go over him in an impressive way.
If WWE is smart and really wants Ziggler to look legitimate, he needs to defeat Jericho in a convincing, possibly brutal way (much like Orton did to him back in 2010). Alternatively, WWE could have a Briefcase vs. Career match, where the winner gets the MITB briefcase and the loser leaves WWE.
Ziggler needs the bragging rights of "retiring" a major star like Jericho, and with Jericho now available to do this final job to Ziggler at SummerSlam, he has to do it in a way that makes him look like a definite threat and will garner him major heat for getting rid of a popular legend.
It's in WWE's court now to see how good they are willing to make Ziggler look.
Thoughts?
