Manchester United Transfer News: United Pressing on in Deal for Lucas Moura

Manchester United are continuing in their chase for Sao Paulo sensation Lucas Moura, according to latest reports, and are still in with a great chance of landing the youngster.

The Daily Mail reports that the Premier League giants are pressing in on a deal with the 19-year-old and that they are not phased by recent reports suggesting that the teenager is moving to Italian club Inter Milan.

A delegation from brazil is due for talks at United who remain in the hunt for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, 28, and are continuing to monitor Copenhagen left back Bryan Oviedo, 22.

The news comes after reports emerged yesterday saying that Inter Milan had agreed to a £21 million deal with Sao Paulo for Lucas—a report flatly denied by the South American club yesterday. The club's vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes said via Goal:

I'm not aware of this information. I was with [Sao Paulo president] Juvenal Juvencio on Wednesday and Thursday.

We only negotiated with Manchester United, but their offer was not good enough.

"

Manchester United still, therefore, remain the favorites to sign the talented teenager over the summer transfer window, who is currently starring for Brazil at the 2012 London Olympics.

Lucas is believed to cost around £30 million for the Red Devils who, despite having one offer already knocked back, will continue their pursuit for the starlet.

Lucas would be United's third key signing for the summer after landing Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell already in the transfer window.
