My Case for The Big Show in “Money in the Bank”

With WrestleMania 25 only six weeks away, you would imagine there will soon be qualifying matches for the Money in the Bank ladder match. This is my written plea for the inclusion of one man: The Big Show.

Since his return at No Way Out 2008, he has had a lot of time in the limelight, but no real success. He suffered a loss to Floyd Mayweather at WrestleMania XXIV, beat the Great Khali (not a big deal really), and lost the majority of matches in his feud with the Undertaker.

We saw The Big Show put in good performances in the Royal Rumble match and the SmackDown! elimination chamber, but in my opinion, the two-time WWF/E Champion needs a chance at the big time again, and what better way than to win Money in the Bank.

In the past few years we have seen the briefcase propel wrestlers who were on the brink of the world title scene into the spotlight, albeit sometimes far too briefly. But this time I think it is the turn of a far more seasoned veteran, somebody who has shown many times he deserves that kind of a shot.

I am quite aware however that the WWE will probably not go down this road, favoring giving the win to the up and coming stars. I do believe there is still a case to involve him in the match, as a larger athlete would add a new dimension that has been missing the past three years.

In the first Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 21, we saw Kane act as a lightning rod for the attention of the other competitors, realizing the threat that he posed. I, like many others, want a wrestling match to tell a story, and the inclusion of The Big Show can only improve the plot.

The Big Show doesn’t seem to currently be involved in a storyline, and I would hate to see his time at WrestleMania 25 eaten up with a pointless rivalry. I will be waiting with bated breath to see who gets a chance to get in the match, but hope that Vickie Guerrero does the right thing and gives Big Show this opportunity.
