2012 Summer Olympics: Friday's Big Weekend Preview

Olympics, Olympics, Olympics—sick of it yet? Well, I'm not, and neither are the unprecedented number of people tuning in to watch Gabby Douglas' all-around awesomeness and Michael Phelps' gold-medal-accented swan song.

Not to mention soccer (with brutal kneeing), basketball (complete with a win by 80-plus and alley-oop fests) and all those other watch-once-every-four-years sports (table tennis, handball, archery) that keep us glued to our screens for two weeks straight.

It's been awesome, and we've still got track and field.

Phelps and Missy Franklin Have a Monster Friday

So why not watch it in the comfort of your home, on a real TV? It'll definitely be worth it to watch the most decorated Olympian ever and a young star with a very bright future own their competition.

Usain Bolt Goes for Gold

When: Sunday, prime time

Why You Should Watch: The last time Usain Bolt ran this race at the Olympics, he blew away the world while throttling back at the end. It's been replayed ad nauseam for the last four years because it's just that incredible. Now it's time to see if he can do it again.

Phelps Says Goodbye

Why You Should Watch: Why not watch a bit of all-time sports history? The most decorated Olympian of all time will be swimming in his final event (4x100-meter medley relay) before bidding adieu to the pool (competitively, at least) forever.

Big-Time Tennis Finals

When: Saturday and Sunday, TBD

TV: NBC Family of Networks

Why You Should Watch: How about a repeat of the Wimbledon men's final—Roger Federer vs. Andy Murray, at Wimbledon, with a gold medal on the line? Hard to argue with that. Plus, you've got Serena Williams against Maria Sharapova on the women's side.

Why You Should Watch: Everyone's complaints aside, NBC's streaming of everything under the London sun (fog? whatever) opens up plenty of awesome sports-watching possibilities. Trampoline, anyone? Sailing?
