USA vs. New Zealand: American Women's Soccer Team Will Continue Their Domination
The United States' Women's Soccer team is on a mission
They seem unstoppable in this tournament, and if they aren't, it's unlikely New Zealand will be the team to do it.
Team USA has outscored their three opponents 8-2, and that plus-six margin is the largest gap of any team in the competition. With Abby Wambach leadinig the way, Team USA is the only team with three players in the top 10 in scoring in the tournament.
New Zealand does not possess the firepower necessary to compete with Team USA.
They have scored only three goals through three matches, and have allowed the same amount.
They were shut-out in two consecutive matches by Brazil and Great Britain, and the same is likely to occur in this match.
I expect Wambach to add to her goals total. She currently has three, as will Alex Morgan who has two.
With the Americans' strength in the midfield and Hope Solo as the goaltender, the modest New Zealand attack will find good opportunities rare.
Through three matches, they've attempted only 10 shots on goal. Only Columbia, whom the Americans routed 3-0, have less attempts.
This one won't be close, another 3-0 victory is what I predict as this is just a stepping stone to a gold medal for the American women.
The Americans are charged and confident to bring home the gold. They will not be derailed by an inferior team.
