This game pits the Group A winner, Great Britain, against the Group B runner-up, South Korea.
Great Britain enters the match fresh off a solid performance in pool play, beating the United Arab Emirates in convincing fashion, holding off Uruguay 1-0 and tying Senegal. GB is the last remaining European squad in the field. South Korea squeaked into the quarterfinals after playing Gabon to a draw in their final group match.
Great Britain enters the game as the clear favorite; the nation is a perennial power and their pool play showing was a strong bounce back from England's devastating 2012 Euro loss to Italy in PK's. In their three group matches, Great Britain posted five goals.
In order to compete, South Korea will have to find some offensive firepower. In pool play matches, they only mustered two goals, both coming in their win over Switzerland. Look for Bokyung Kim and Park Chu-Young to lead the goal scoring effort for the Koreans.
Another area of concern for South Korea is Great Britain's time of possession. In their match against Uruguay, the Brits managed to control the ball for 63 percent of the match. If they are able to equal that level against the South Koreans, they should advance to the semifinals.
With the support of the host country behind them, the British will be difficult to stop.
